Who can use it
This app is open only to current members of the podcast 電扶梯走左邊. Membership and its fees are handled by the podcast’s membership platform; this app charges nothing.
When your membership ends, you will no longer be able to sign in with a code and community features stop working. Your content is not deleted because of that, and you can still delete your account yourself while signed in.
Deleting your account does not cancel your paid subscription on the membership platform; to stop paying, cancel it there.
You must be 18 or older to use this app.
Your account
You sign in with your own email address and a code sent to that inbox. One person, one account — please do not let anyone else use your account or your codes.
You can delete your account in the app at any time. It is switched off for 7 days first, and signing back in during that time cancels the deletion; after that it is deleted for good and cannot be recovered.
What you write is yours
You keep all rights to everything you write and upload. We claim no ownership of it.
So that the app can work — showing your journal back to you, showing the posts you choose to share to people in a channel, showing your public matching card and year vision to other members, and showing an event you host to the members who can see it — you allow us to store and display that content. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except that events you hosted stay for the people who signed up (see the privacy policy).
Please upload only content you have the right to share.
Community rules
The first time you open a channel, the app asks you to agree to the community rules (社群守則). They say the same as this:
- Do not post harassing, hateful, violent or illegal content.
- If you see content like that, report it or block the person from the ••• menu, and we will look at it as soon as we can.
- Other people’s journals are not public material. Do not repost them outside the app.
Matching and events
Matching, friends and events exist so members can get to know each other. If you meet another member in person, choose a public place and look after your own safety; each member is responsible for their own conduct towards others.
Events are organised by administrators, or by members an administrator has given hosting rights to. Registration may require approval, and a full event has a wait-list. Events may change or be cancelled, and we will tell you in the app when they do. A host can see the display names and sign-up status of the people who signed up, and may use them only to run that event.
What we may do
We may hide, edit or delete content that breaks the community rules, and restrict or suspend accounts for serious or repeated violations.
We handle a report within 24 hours of receiving it; a report only about spam or ads is handled within 72 hours. While a report is being reviewed, the reported content may be hidden first, and it is shown again if it turns out not to break the community rules.
State of the service
This is an early version. It may be interrupted, and features may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
What you write is saved on your device first, so even if our servers have a problem, your content is still there.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
The effective date is at the top of this page. When these terms change materially we update that date; for a major change, or when the community rules change, the app explains what changed and asks you to agree again. We record which version you agreed to and when.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Any dispute arising from these terms or the service is to be heard first by the Taiwan Taipei District Court.
Language
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Traditional Chinese version, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
